There's no shortage of talented artists in Upstate New York, but in her studio, Ruby Silvious is creating some extraordinary works of art, using a very unconventional canvas. Armed with an extremely fine brush, the Tacloban-born visual artist and graphic designer uses emptied-out tea bags to paint on.
A few months ago, Ruby completed 363 Days of Tea, a visual daily journal that records her impression of the moment using used tea bags to create miniscule-but-adorable works of art each day. This year, she's doing 52 Weeks of Tea, a project that is a little more manageable to produce. Check out some of the pieces from Ruby's new series below, and then be sure to head on over to her Instagram to see much more of her amazing work.
