Guy Mckinley's colorful art

When I found these illustrations by Manchester-based artist Guy Mckinley via tumblr, I lost track of time and scrolled through months and months of hand-drawn and digital pieces before I realized how deep I had gone. His drawings and paintings are heavily inspired by Japanese art and western comics, but I can tell that they appeal to a wide range of ages and tastes.

McKinley has been consistently producing colorful illustrations since 2003, and his work has been featured in different publications. He has exhibited his illustrations all over Europe and the United States, and has been commissioned to create work for clients including Disney, Adidas, New Balance, Diesel, and Sprite.

It's Beautiful, But Also Could Explode

Ah, Taal Lake. Admirable, breathtaking, a perfect postcard of tranquility. And then you remember. Oh right, there's a volcano inside the lake, inside an island, inside another body of water. It's like an  Inception movie directed by mother nature, and frankly, I'm pretty sure she's just messing with us at this point.

More Than Just Smiles and Sunsets

Ayala Museum is currently hosting "Amorsolo: Chroma" - a spectrum of brilliance you wouldn't want to miss. It is more than just a collection of paintings; it’s an experience. It’s a masterclass in light and color, a journey into the mind of a Filipino genius, and a fresh perspective on an artist many of us thought we knew. The first thing that you will notice you when you step into "Chroma" is… well, the chroma. While Amorsolo is famed for his mastery of light, this exhibition dives deeper into his entire color palette. It’s like entering a vibrant, living spectrum. Go check it!
