Helga Stentzel's Whimsical Art

Helga Stentzel has amassed more than 150,000 Instagram followers and it's clear to see why. Her playful optical illusions using household items are guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Through meticulous assemblage and graceful composition, a loaf of bread can become a cute dog, a camera can turn into a washing machine and pieces of laundry can turn into adorable farm animals. Aside from Helga's IG, you can also check out her online store where you can find signed prints that come with physical certificates of authenticity.

Illustrations by Sarula Bao

You can't talk about Sarula Bao's work without praising her prismatic use of color. Her art explores Chinese culture and queerness, and her website is a treasure trove of illustrations, zines and comics. It's a weird and wonderful world of characters, expressions and beautiful, vibrant scenes. Sarula is a freelance illustrator who lives in Brooklyn, and I've been a fan of her work for a while now. If you like her art, check out her INPRNT account for a number of prints available for sale. Buy one, it'll make your wall happy.
