Since 2005, Russian photographer Viktoria Sorochinski has been shooting a hugely popular series of photos titled Anna & Eve. Through a mix of documentary and fiction, Sorochinkski shows how the two grew together and came to understand the world around them. Her images contain a very strong narrative, and, though all the scenes are staged, they reveal a real relationship of a mother and her daughter.
Sorochinski left the USSR with her parents in 1990 when she was 11 years old. After living in Israel, she continued her studies of Fine Arts at Concordia University in Montreal, then at the New York University, where she acquired her Masters of Fine Arts in 2008. She is currently living and working in Berlin, Germany.
The following images come from the series Anna & Eve, Silent Dialogs, Daddy and Lands of No Return. You can find more of Sorochinski’s work on her website.
