Ed Fairburn is an English artist who has gained global success by creating unique portraits out of maps and star charts. His drawings are made using ink and graphite, and I love the way the sketches interact with the topographical and astrological features found on the original pieces.
"My work is mostly figurative and exists across a range of surfaces and contexts. It's sometimes interactive, often playful but serious most of the time," the Southampton native says.
Ed's As One (alongside California abstract painter John Wentz) is currently on view at Mike Wright Gallery in Denver, Colorado. The exhibit opened on November 6 and runs through December 19, 2015, so you've got enough time to check it out if you happen to be in (or near) the Mile-High City.
