The Rubin Museum of Art in New York is currently displaying stunning photos of India—its landscapes, people, architecture, and street scenes—by renowned American photographer Steve McCurry. "[I was drawn to] the depth of culture here," he told TIME. "The visual chaos, the endless variety of dramatic cheek-by-jowl juxtapositions it affords: modernity and tradition, the haves and have-nots, the usual and the bizarre." The exhibition is on display through April 4, 2016.
Steve's exhibit also corresponds to the release of his new book, India, which features "150 previously unpublished images taken across the subcontinent, along with iconic photographs that are famous worldwide." Here's a preview of some of the images on show.
