These pancakes are way too cool to eat

Dancakes is the brainchild of Daniel 'Dr. Dan' Drake and Henry 'Hank' Gustafson, a duo from St. Louis, Missouri who make some of the most extraordinary pancake art you'll ever see. Their YouTube page is full of amazing videos for mouthwatering creations like these Game of Thrones flapjacks. They look too incredible to eat — well, almost. They're still pancakes, after all.

Sayaka Ganz creates amazing art menagerie from discarded plastics

I could never get enough of Sayaka Ganz . The Japanese-born artist saves the planet from plastic, at the same time creates brilliant animal sculptures. Raised under the Japanese philosophy of Shintoism, she hopes to bring greater awareness to the condition of our environment through her art. When creating sculptures, Sayaka organizes the reclaimed plastic objects into color groups, constructs a wire frame, and then carefully attaches the fragments of waste until she creates the shape she has envisioned. Her work has been exhibited in many places around the globe, among them Parma, Tokyo, Denver, New York, and San Francisco to name a few. Sayaka's Reclaimed Creations is currently on view at the Asian Arts & Culture Center at Towson University in Maryland. Image credit: Manila Bulletin Watercolor is not easy to use. It's unpredictable and hard to control. Unlike opaque paints, a slight change in the water-to-pigment ratio or the wetness of the paper can alter the outcome. But, with a lot of practice, plenty of patience, and a little bit of luck, you can create something truly beautiful. Anyway, here are some of the entries from the 37th Kulay Sa Tubig National Watercolor Competition, which was held recently at Estancia Mall in Pasig. The exhibit runs until October 27, 2025.
