I don't know Johanna Helmuth, but sometimes I feel like I do. I've been following her on Instagram for weeks now and it's quite obvious how much I love her work. Her rough portraiture on canvas plays host to a group of characters that exist in a mysterious emotional universe. Her paintings speak of dominance and subordination, frustrations and betrayals, apathy and suffering, contempt and distrust.

The entire setup creates a stunning, first-person virtual reality experience—only this one is real and features a creature with an impressively large wingspan. However, this isn't just for cool footage. The real mission is to capture valuable scientific data: examining how quickly an eagle can gain altitude and precisely how its incredible wings are adapted to achieve such breathtaking, effortless lift.

Enigmatic Shapes and Psychedelic Patterns

To say that I love Sanagi 's work is an understatement. Looking at her art feels sort of therapeutic, and I find her drawings refreshingly intricate. They're trippy, psychedelic, and resemble something that you might see under a microscope. Not much is Googleable about Sanagi, but that's fine. There aren't many artists these days that still pull off the whole mysterious vibe, so I commend her for that. By the way... they're all hand-drawn with pen and ink.
