I've seen all kinds of food art projects from Fruitdoodles and Bagel Suit to coffee art. Cui Xingang's sculptures make a big impression on a micro scale. The artist from Zhengzhou in central China's Henan Province recently finished carving out portraits depicting the Arhats – the eighteen followers of the Buddha who have reached the state of Nirvana and are free of earthly desires.
Cui used nine olive nuts and carved two faces into each one with tremendous attention to detail. One side shows a happy face and the other sad or angry.
