Autistic genius draws cities from memory


A lot of artists out there suffer from mental disabilities, yet they produce some of the most stunning artwork that you can imagine. Take, for example, Stephen Wiltshire, who is famous for his incredibly detailed pen and ink drawings. Diagnosed with autism at the age of three, the gifted artist from London has a remarkable ability to render a city from memory after seeing it only once. He memorizes buildings, streets, and other cityscapes, and will do so with London, Tokyo or New York after a 20-minute helicopter ride.

Below is a timelapse video of Stephen drawing the Singapore cityscape. It took a brief helicopter ride over the Lion City and 5 days for the artist to complete his sketch.
