Feast your eyes on the making of 'Heisei Mary'

This is a time-lapse video of Japanese artist Shohei Otomo drawing Heisei Mary — a naked Sailor Moon-like figure completely covered in tattoos. The highly-detailed body ink features Spiderman, Darth Vader, Hello Kitty, Naruto, Street Fighter and Dragon Ball characters to name a few. It's really satisfying to see an artist's process, the way their illustration grows and grows out of nothing.

Shohei is known for his hyper-realistic sketches using ballpoint pens. Born in Tokyo in 1980, he is the son of Katsuhiro Otomo, the creator of the manga Akira. He exhibits his work regularly in Japan and Australia as well as in Mexico and France.

Three weeks worth of work are sped up into less than four minutes.

Irene Saputra's Colorful Stitched Pieces

Embroidery is nowhere near forgotten, and in fact, it's experiencing something of a resurgence as artists around the globe are putting their own unique spins on the craft. Indonesia's Irene Saputra is one of them, and more than 45,000 people on Instagram already follow her. Handmade from colorful threads stitched onto fabric, Irene's embroideries begin as original illustrations. What I really like about her stitched pieces is that some of them are meant to be worn. This steampunk-themed cafe makes the meme cool again

Now, maybe I'm as tired of steampunk as you guys, but that doesn't mean I'm going to pretend something like this isn't cool. Located in the Romanian city of Cluj, Enigma claims to be "the world's first kinetic steampunk bar." I don't know if that's true, but the place looks pretty dope with all the dynamic art installations. [h/t: Colossal ]
