A Delicate Touch

Hana Rubi is an artist from Manchester, England who creates objects that are visually compelling and a little bizarre—in the best way. I love the "Alice in Wonderland" vibe that her work embodies, and I couldn't help but stare at these simple, yet peculiar ceramic bell shaped dolls.

Scroll down to see more of Hana's ceramic creations. And when you're done, be sure to check out her Etsy shop to get your own unusual and affordable art.

Need to stop painting up faces while the watching the news.. pretty sure my look of worry and concern is being transferred to whatever I’m working on. • She may be full of ‘bad vibes’ but I’m still into her. This is a larger version of my smaller harpy ornaments, and is a really nice size to work with ☺️ • Im painting up some more ceramic pieces while keeping an eye on the current global health situation before I list everything on my Etsy shop, so please bear with me.. • • #ceramicart #clay #playwithclay #ceramicbird #ceramicboobs #ceramicanimals #birdwoman #harpy #siren #alkonost #mythology #mythologyart #boobart #feministart #feministartist #manchesterartist #wallart #quirkydecor #earthenware #goldglitter #goldaccents #sideeye #smallart #handmade #hanarubi #hanarubistudio #queen #crown

Enigmatic Shapes and Psychedelic Patterns

To say that I love Sanagi 's work is an understatement. Looking at her art feels sort of therapeutic, and I find her drawings refreshingly intricate. They're trippy, psychedelic, and resemble something that you might see under a microscope. Not much is Googleable about Sanagi, but that's fine. There aren't many artists these days that still pull off the whole mysterious vibe, so I commend her for that. By the way... they're all hand-drawn with pen and ink.

James DeRosso's ceramic monsters

I really like these whimsical ceramic creatures by James DeRosso. Yes, they have bulging eyes and toothy grins, but they're not scary at all. The Portland-based artist started making cute monsters while he was a student to jokingly create gargoyle-like guardians for the kiln. After other students kept taking his quirky little figures, he realized there was a market for them. "I'm enjoying the whole monster making niche," James says. "It's amazingly gratifying to be doing ceramics full time and especially to be a teacher introducing kids to the joy of clay." Be sure to visit his website and like his Facebook page for the latest monster news.

Artist transforms Spider-Man, Ant-Man into terrifying monsters

We all have seen lots of different illustrations of Spider-Man, but I'm sure you've never seen anything similar to what Nikolay Tsys created. The Russian digital artist from Moscow went beyond the usual representation of the Spidey we often see in comic books and movies, and portrayed the friendly neighborhood superhero as a horrific human-animal hybrid that seems to be taken from someone's most terrifying nightmare. Aside from Nikolay's Spider-Man, I also like his depiction of Ant-Man and Emperor Palpatine. Take a look at some of his highly detailed illustrations below: [h/t: Bloody Disgusting ]
