Bob Marley: Portrait of the Legend

To mark Bob Marley's 75th birthday, Rizzoli is releasing Bob Marley: Portrait of the Legend, a new, official hardcover book featuring more than 150 photographs that celebrate the life and influence of one of the pioneers of reggae. Curated by his son Ziggy, the book "mixes the iconic and the intimate, bringing together striking images of Marley as a performer onstage with unseen glimpses into his creative process in and out of the studio and his family life in Jamaica."

Last night I pulled out my copy of Bob's 1977 album Exodus and played it all the way through twice. I haven't heard it in a while, and it sounded really good to me.

The Adorable Sculptures of Yen Yen Lo

These images are from a series of wall sculptures created by Yen Yen Lo . Here you can see her intricately textured ceramic pieces, looking downright adorable. Yen Yen Lo's eye for the unique and whimsical is delightful. Apparently they are not intended for kids under 16. Fifteen-year-olds cannot be trusted with fragile stuff. Get them a Funko Pop instead.

It’s now been fifty-eight years since Walt Disney died of lung cancer, and as a great way to remember his legacy is watch this short film he did in 1929. It’s truly impressive, and you can still see the impact he made on animation today.
