Making a Beautiful Wooden Globe

I find myself watching a lot of woodworking videos these days and as a result, I have just about given up woodworking myself. I was never good at it and the end product was such a total disaster. Woodworking also requires a great amount of skill and patience, two things I have in very short supply, so I better leave it up to guys like Frank Howarth.

Frank is a master woodworker and architect from Portland who specializes is woodturning. In these videos, he crafts a globe and globe stand from scratch over a period of a few months. They're long and you'll be tempted to skip ahead, but watching them is almost therapeutic.

The Adorable Sculptures of Yen Yen Lo

These images are from a series of wall sculptures created by Yen Yen Lo . Here you can see her intricately textured ceramic pieces, looking downright adorable. Yen Yen Lo's eye for the unique and whimsical is delightful. Apparently they are not intended for kids under 16. Fifteen-year-olds cannot be trusted with fragile stuff. Get them a Funko Pop instead.

Thai artist paints on mosquito nets

I find them quite intriguing, these ghostly portraits that Uttaporn Nimmalaikaew paints on mosquito nets. His creations look like a hologram, changing form depending on where the viewer stands. Overall, they're gloomy, haunting, and endlessly fascinating. I could stare at them for ages. [h/t: Colossal ]
