The Bizarre History of Rum

Back when I was drinking a lot more alcohol than I do these days, my go to beverage was rum. Born from sugarcane and with a past as rich and complex as its flavor, rum is inexpensive and has a smooth taste. The longer it ages, the better and more complex it becomes. Whether you're sipping a simple Tanduay and Coke or handcrafted cocktails like the Mojito, Daiquiri, and Mai Tai, rum is always a good choice.

Taika Waititi has two special powers: hilarity and reimagining

Taika Waititi's latest film is called Jojo Rabbit , a World War II satire that follows a lonely German boy (Roman Griffin Davis) who just so happens to have an imaginary friend in the form of Adolf Hitler (Waititi). But Jojo's beliefs are tested when he discovers that his hot mom (Scarlett Johansson) is hiding an equally attractive Jewish girl (Thomasin McKenzie) in their attic. Guided only by the Führer, Jojo must confront his blind patriotism. Based upon the book Caging Skies by Christine Leunens, Jojo Rabbit opens in theaters October 18th.

McDonald's unveils bike-friendly takeout packaging

Ad firm Tribal Buenos Aires in Argentina has designed a new disposable takeout packaging for McDonald's that's made to hang from bicycle handlebars. Dubbed "McBike," the carrier is made out of cardboard and holds a burger, fries and drink. It was first introduced in Denmark, and then in Colombia. McDonald's aims to roll this concept out in Japan and the Netherlands soon. I really like the design. It's very practical. [h/t: DesignTaxi ]
